With more than 20 years in public broadcasting development, Walt Gillette helps stations with philanthropic fundraising, mid-level, major and planned giving, and an array of diversified non-traditional fundraising methods including federated and federal workplace giving, vehicle donations, gifts of stock, and the IRA Rollover provision, naming just a few.
Walt is currently the Director of Development for WAMU, Washington. Prior to joining WAMU, Walt worked with WLRN, WUWF, the American Red Cross, the American Lung Association, and the Department of Defense Overseas Shows program in Okinawa, Japan. Walt is an active volunteer leader as a member of the Education and Training Committee within the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Professional Advancement Division. He earned the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2008, and was named Development Professional of the Year by the Public Radio Association of Development Officers in 2005.
